About the Author

Thorough Look at Purity

This book is basically a biblical theology of sex. It deals with the major issues in regard to sexual purity, such as pornography, adultery, homosexuality, celibacy and other pertinent issues. Gary Inrig is a clear writer and well organized in his material. Something that stood out in this book to me was how Inrig focuses on trying not only to present the prohibitions of the Bible against sexual sin, but also a positive view of sex within God's ordained perimeters. Like many blessings of God such as food and drink, sex can be a great privilege within marriage, but outside of God's design , it can make people's lives a living nightmare. Recommended.

This is a much needed book in our society today!

I had to read this book for my theology class as well as write a 12 page review. Here's part of what I wrote in my review.
Pure Desire - Moral Sanity in a Sex-Saturated Culture is a book that is much needed in our society. It’s not just a book that you can purchase, read, and place on a shelf after reading it. Inrig work challenges us to examine ourselves to see if we are walking in that place of purity according to God’s commands, loving others unconditionally, and being good stewards of the blessings that God has given us. It has definitely given me great insight on what it will take to have a successful marriage and to be a better Christian.The only area of improvement that I say was that I would love to see Inrig add areas in the book where we could’ve done some reflections or some Q&A’s.
