Its simple, illustrated so delicately, and shows bed-sharing and a supportive papa, and such a neat relationship. The text is simple and tender.. The illustrations in this book are gorgeous. The joyous expression on the child s face when at last the sun has risen is just unmistakable. And the father kissing the baby's head while she nurses is precious. I've met so many co-sleeping mothers of toddlers who find themselves acting as an open bar at night. And it's hard to explain, in a way that a toddler can understand, that you want to sleep at night. About the Author
Katherine Havener is a natural and attachment parenting advocate, attorney, and mother to three beautiful girls. She is a retired Holistic Moms Network leader and is an active member of La Leche League. Katherine has been featured in national and San Francisco Bay Area parenting magazines and news shows. Her inspiration for Nursies was her daughter Elea, who, for the first 22 months of her life, woke up every two hours to nurse. Katherine has been happily married to her husband, Reese, for thirteen years. This is her first children's book.

A lovely and thoughtful read for co-sleeping families wishing to nightwean!

I am currently 3 months pregnant with my second baby, and still nursing my 2 1/2 year toddler. However, nursing through pregnancy, specifically at night, was becoming increasingly painful and difficult. It was time for the 24 hour all-you-can-eat snack bar to come to a close! Well, we are on night FIVE... My 2 1/2 year old is now night weaned and SLEEPING THROUGH 11+ hours!!! This book has been a glorious accompaniment to our gentle night weaning plan, and is my daughter's current favorite read! Now, I am only waking once a night to pee and to snack (thank you, baby en utero), but hey, at least it is no longer 4 times a night to twilight feed my toddler! THANK YOU! :)

Beautiful book!

Where do I even begin to write about what a beautiful book this is? First of all, I love that it is a breastfeeding book for children. If you have ever tried to find a children's breastfeeding book, there aren't that many choices. Secondly, it is written simply, yet eloquently. Katherine uses simple phrases and words that your child will understand. Night weaning can be a difficult process and this book puts the process into words a child can understand. Third, it is written from a loving perspective. No talk of crying or any being left alone. And finally, the illustrations are stunning. They are wall-worthy! The last photo will bring tears to your eyes. Oh, I also like that the child is not gender specific, so you don't have to worry that it is for a boy or girl, it is for all children.
Overall, a must have book for any family with breastfeeding children!

I agree with the others that this is a really nice book, but "Daddy" does figure prominently in it so if you don't bed share with your partner this will be confusing (it was for us cause we don't bed share with Daddy). My child liked "milkies in the morning" the best of all the books we tried.
